Graduates will be equipped with new generation knowledge for solving air, water, soil, and waste problems. They will also play a key role in shaping policies toward circular economies and environmental impact assessments. The programme is fully accredited by The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE). This means that graduates are eligible for Corporate Membership of HKIE after completing the necessary training and can participate in HKIE's Scheme A training in the Environmental disciplines. All admitted students will embark on a Common Year One curriculum. Towards the end of year one, students can decide whether to continue with their initial choice or switch to another choice within the Faculty. Those who wish to change to another choice need to join a competitive process through a ranking assessment, which considers a combination of entrance qualification score, Year One GPA, and interview performance. Remarks Remarks Entry Scholarship Entry Scholarship To recognise applicants with outstanding academic performance in the HKDSE, the Department will grant entry scholarships to eligible HKDSE students admitted to its programmes via JUPAS. The award criteria for the scholarship, listed in this information sheet , are subject to change and will be announced on the same website in due course. However, "Liberal Studies" would not be recognized for meeting the elective requirement of the general entrance requirement in 2024/25 and thereafter. The level attainment of the subject would not be included in the admission score calculation. 3 . Individual schemes / programmes will accept one relevant Applied Learning (ApL) subject for meeting the entrance requirements. An attainment at Attained with Distinction (I) level or above / Attained with Distinction (obtained in 2017 or before) is required. 4 . Other Language subjects (i.e. Category C) offered in the HKDSE Examination will be accepted as elective subjects. The following minimum grades or above are required starting from 2026/27. The study places offered by PolyU through JUPAS are intended primarily for admission of local school leavers. Applicants who are studying or have studied a scheme / programme with degree or above level will be considered on a case-by-case basis. 10 . Please note that Category I and Category II applicants are considered under different admission routes and are subject to different tuition fees. Category II applicants seeking admission on the basis of HKDSE results should submit their applications directly to PolyU. Applicants who fall short slightly on the general entrance requirements of our schemes / programmes may be specially considered for admission. Details will be announced in due course. 12 .
