Graduates will be able to plan, design, construct, and manage interdisciplinary civil engineering projects incorporating complex commercial, environmental, social, and legal considerations. Full accreditation has been granted to this programme by The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE). Graduates of the programme are qualified for Corporate Membership of HKIE after appropriate training and are eligible to join Scheme A training of HKIE in the civil, environmental, geotechnical, structural, logistics & transportation disciplines. All admitted students will embark on a Common Year One curriculum. Towards the end of year one, students can decide whether to continue with their initial choice or switch to another choice within the Faculty. Those who wish to change to another choice need to join a competitive process through a ranking assessment, which considers a combination of entrance qualification score, Year One GPA, and interview performance. Remarks Remarks Entry Scholarship Entry Scholarship To recognise those who achieved outstanding academic performance in the HKDSE, the Department will grant entry scholarships to eligible HKDSE students admitted to the programmes via JUPAS. For HKDSE repeaters who took "Liberal Studies" in 2023/24 or before and have not taken "Citizenship and Social Development" in 2024/25 and thereafter, "Level 2" or above in "Liberal Studies" would be regarded as "Attained" in "Citizenship and Social Development" for fulfilling the general entrance requirement. However, "Liberal Studies" would not be recognized for meeting the elective requirement of the general entrance requirement in 2024/25 and thereafter. The level attainment of the subject would not be included in the admission score calculation. 3 . Individual schemes / programmes will accept one relevant Applied Learning (ApL) subject for meeting the entrance requirements. An attainment at Attained with Distinction (I) level or above / Attained with Distinction (obtained in 2017 or before) is required. 4 . Other Language subjects (i.e. Category C) offered in the HKDSE Examination will be accepted as elective subjects. The following minimum grades or above are required starting from 2026/27. The study places offered by PolyU through JUPAS are intended primarily for admission of local school leavers. Applicants who are studying or have studied a scheme / programme with degree or above level will be considered on a case-by-case basis. 10 . Please note that Category I and Category II applicants are considered under different admission routes and are subject to different tuition fees. Category II applicants seeking admission on the basis of HKDSE results should submit their applications directly to PolyU.
