The Anthropology programme at The Chinese University of Hong Kong has strengths in cultural anthropology – defined by the methods of in- depth interviewing and immersive participant-observation, and also offers courses in archaeology and cultural heritage studies. Anthropology students come from both Arts and Science backgrounds, and they learn to think independently. Learning to appreciate and understand the various ways in which cultures may be organised, students will learn to see their own in a new light. Students learn how to conduct research, how to analyse evidence, and acquire strong verbal and written communication skills. Anthropology provides a broad humanities and social science training that prepares students for a wide variety of careers in cultural heritage management, liberal studies, business, journalism, and other cross-cultural work.
