The integrated Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) curriculum is outcomes- and competency-based, adopting a clinically focused approach to achieve its mission. The dental degree curriculum lasts six years. Learning principally takes place in the Prince Philip Dental Hospital, the only dental teaching hospital in Hong Kong. There are also classes in the general medical and surgical wards of the University Departments of Medicine and Surgery, and with the ward and operating theatre of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the Queen Mary Hospital. Learning also occurs at a variety of dental clinics and oral health education delivery settings throughout Hong Kong.
