The training flexibility and curriculum elements for these students are beyond the traditional engineering education requirements to prepare them to take up new challenges in various highly competitive engineering fields, such as, but not limited to, robotics, artificial intelligence, material technology, nanofabrication, semiconductor, construction automation, and sustainable development. Through freely choosing an engineering major, receiving academic/industrial mentorship, and participating in overseas exchanges, students can aim to pursue the most competitive career paths in either academic or industrial direction. Applicants can use one single code, 6303, to apply for the Bachelor of Engineering Elite Programme. Elite students* will enjoy a series of privileges that enrich their studies at HKU Engineering: High Flexibility in Programme Major Selectio High Flexibility in Programme Major Selectio n (Subject to academic performance and availability.) In the end of Year 1, Elite students are eligible to freely select their preferred BEng programme majors from: Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Data and System Engineering, Mechanical Engineering; or Faculty-based signature initiatives: 1 . Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Science in Engineering in Artificial Intelligence in Engineering (X+AI) programme 2 . Bachelor of Engineering in Robotics Engineering (ROBO)^ Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science from the School of Computer and Data Science (SCDS) - a minimum cumulative GPA 3.3 would be required ^This programme is subject to the University’s approval.
