A-level BBC - CCC including Chemistry and either Biology or Mathematics, plus one further rigorous academic subject. You will also need to meet the University's contextual admissions (widening participation) selection criteria detailed on our application process page under 'how your application is considered'. You will need to be predicted, or have achieved, grades between CCC-BBC. Grades outside these requirements will not be considered. We will consider resit applications provided you have obtained a minimum of A-level grades DCC at the first attempt (or equivalent qualifications). Practical skills are a crucial part of science education and therefore will be a requirement to pass the practical element of any science A Level taken. Where applicants are applying for science and related degrees, this is likely to be made explicit in the offer you will receive. Applicants taking A Levels are normally expected to offer three full A Levels. If you’re taking more than three A Levels, any offer will be based on three A Levels, and any additional A Levels won’t be included in your offer. Applicants must demonstrate a broad general education including acceptable levels of literacy and numeracy. We require at least five GCSEs; four at minimum grade 5/B including English Language, with Mathematics at 6/B. We will accept C+ in the Northern Ireland reformed GCSE. GCSE/IGCSE English Literature will not be accepted in lieu of GCSE/IGCSE English Language.
