# Business Psychology - BA (Hons)
Are you interested in a people-focused career in business? By bringing together the study of business management and psychology, this BA (Hons) in Business Psychology will give you a strong foundation for a career in human resource management, marketing, organisational development or general business management.
With an emphasis on real-world learning and practical skills as well as theory, this course focuses on building your employability and enabling you to thrive in jobs focused on getting the best out of people in the workplace. The people and business skills you gain will position you well, not only for a range of in-demand roles following graduation, but also for future management and leadership roles.
The course is accredited by the Association for Business Psychology (ABP) . This gives you eligibility for ABP student membership and includes several benefits, such as access to a professional network, free events and resources, and no joining fee or first-year subscription fee. You can read more about the accreditation with the ABP in the ‘Why QMU?’ section on this page.
Why QMU?
* Gain skills that employers are looking for: The skills that you develop during this course, such as leadership, talent management, understanding of human behaviour at work and analytical thinking, are directly relevant and highly valued by employers. The fast-changing and evolving nature of work requires staff who are agile and resilient with excellent understanding of marketing, employee relations, leadership and consumer behaviour – all of which align with the modules you will study on this course.
In addition, the inclusion of modules covering data management, finance and accounting, and statistics ensure a strong business foundation. And, with remote or hybrid working so common, this course places an emphasis on the need for employers to consider staff wellbeing, mental health, motivation and leadership, to ensure the potential threat of disengagement and isolation of staff working outside of an office environment.
* Be part of a Business School that aims to provide you with an exceptional teaching and learning experience designed to help you succeed: The Queen Margaret Business School's courses provide you with hands-on experiential learning, with an optimum balance of theoretical and practical approaches. The Business School has strong industry links, and our courses are developed with close consultation with industry leaders.
Our courses are designed to build your entrepreneurial and employability skills, making you market-ready when you graduate. We recognise the need for ethical, social and ecological responsibility in business, and we are a signatory member of The Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) . The Business School has strong industry links and embeds entrepreneurship and employability to make you market-ready when you graduate.
* Accreditation with the Association for Business Psychology (ABP) : ABP accreditation recognises courses that meet rigorous professional standards in the teaching and application of psychology within business and organisational contexts.
It confirms that the curriculum is aligned with contemporary business psychology practice, ethical standards, and the skills employers require. Benefits to students include: eligibility for ABP student membership; access to professional events, networking opportunities and industry speakers; opportunities to engage with applied business psychology initiatives, including the ABP Biz Psych Cup; and enhanced employability through a degree recognised by the leading professional body for business psychology in the UK. This accreditation supports students in developing applied psychological insight, professional identity and career readiness for roles in areas such as organisational development, HR, consultancy, leadership and change.
* Gain great industry insights and contacts: Through our great industry links, you will gain insights into high-profile companies. Representatives from companies such as Bacardi, Social Bite, Skyscanner, Google, and Edinburgh Airport have recently joined us as visiting speakers.
* Excellent support from staff: Smaller than average class sizes mean you will get close support and guidance from staff who get to know you. We will help you develop your passion, ranging from supporting student startups to helping you pick the right dissertation or consultancy project to kick-start your career.
