Overview
Fundamental to our ethos is working closely with business communities in the private, public and third sectors. Working with local, national, and international companies helps build professional relationships and networking opportunities for our students.
In your first year, you’ll gain knowledge and skills in marketing, digital business, data-driven decision-making, and finance, as well as gaining insights into your own strengths and ambitions. You’ll then be able to shape the course around your interests and career goals. There are lots of options to choose from in your second and third years, with specialist modules in areas including finance, accountancy, marketing, PR, project management and business strategy.
Our independent accreditations, which are built
into your degree, boost your CV, and fast-track your membership into
organisations such as the Chartered Management Institute. This places you in a
strong position when applying for jobs and can help increase your salary.
At Worcester Business School you’ll join a community of students from all over the world, all based together on the same campus in the centre of Worcester. You’ll learn from your classmates as well as guest lecturers and our expert academic team.
In your first few weeks at university, you’ll meet your friendly personal academic tutor, and they typically remain with you throughout your degree. They’ll get to know your strengths and where you can develop, offering personalised support and feedback throughout the course.
Placements
On this course there are different ways to gain valuable work experience. You’ll have the opportunity to do a short, paid placement, a year-long internship or part-time work with a local business.

Recent students have worked at Rolls Royce as a project management intern, at Worcester Bosch as an HR intern, and at Enterprise Mobility as a management trainee.
Part-time work experience
You can earn money and get experience relevant to your
degree with our Springboard Programme. Our placement team will match you with local businesses and
regional employers.
Roles are typically short-term and project based, but many of our students end up securing part-time contracts for the duration of their degree.
Recent students have worked as a marketing and events assistant and at the Museum of Royal Worcester, as IT assistants in local schools, carried out a sustainability audit at a local health product business.

Student case studies
Some recent graduates reflect on their time on the course.
In my second year, I applied for a springboard internship at Avonreach Academy Trust through the University. After a successful interview, I completed a 12-week paid internship, which was extended until the summer. By the end, I was offered a temporary HR Assistant role.
The hands-on experience has provided me with invaluable knowledge, boosted my confidence, and prepared me for the corporate working world. I have led my own projects, assisted in the implementation of a new payroll system, held meetings, and attended employee forums.
I would recommend a springboard internship to anybody thinking of applying. The experience you will gain and the network connections you will make along the way will be the best foundation you could create for your future working career.

Tatiana is now pursuing a Master’s in Digital Marketing with a view to one day becoming a brand and marketing consultant. “I want to find a position where I can grow and take on new challenges over time,” she said.
Pat Brown
As well as graduating with a degree in Business Management Pat was selected for the England Cricket squad for aTwenty20 five-match series in New Zealand.
“I loved my time at the University of Worcester. I think it was really good for me in terms of furthering my learning," said Pat.
