Additional requirements for Civil Engineering with Study Abroad MEng
Students must meet specific academic requirements and secure approval from the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering to ensure the exchange aligns with their course. To be considered for Study Abroad, the student’s overall results in Year 1 will be evaluated, typically requiring above 70% average though this threshold is subject to change. Acceptance to the specialism requires approval through an application submitted to the Study Abroad Tutor within the department. The Study Abroad Tutors reserve the right to withdraw the offer of a place from a student who does not maintain consistently high results in Year 2. Please note that external factors may affect the availability of exchange opportunities or a student’s ability to participate in the year abroad, even where academic criteria are met.
Please see details of Civil Engineering MEng for the entry requirements of the overall course.
Additional requirements for Civil Engineering with Year in Industry MEng
Students must meet the academic requirements to pass on to the next year and obtain approval from the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering for their chosen placement before progressing onto the Year in Industry. Students interested in the Year in Industry specialism are required to register their interest with the Year in Industry Tutor within the department. Please note that it is the responsibility of the student to secure a placement opportunity, and external factors may affect the availability of placements, or a student’s ability to undertake them, even where the academic criteria are met.
