Additional requirements for Chemical Engineering (Biochemical) MEng
There are no specific academic requirements for this Biochemical route; However, in order to remain on the MEng programme (all routes), the student must achieve an accumulated weighted average above 55% at the end of Year 2 and at the end of Year 3.
Please see details of Chemical Engineering MEng for the entry requirements of the overall course.
Additional requirements for Chemical Engineering (Biochemical) with Year in Industry MEng
Students must meet specific academic requirements and obtain approval from the Department of Chemical Engineering for their chosen placement. For a placement to be approved, your academic progress must be satisfactory, typically you should have an accumulated average above 60%. At the end of the academic year before your year in industry, you must have met the requirements to progress to the final year of your course. Please note that it is the student’s responsibility to secure a placement opportunity, and external factors may affect the availability of placements or a student’s ability to undertake them, even where the academic criteria are met.
There are no specific academic requirements for the Biochemical route for their 5th year; However, in order to remain on the MEng course (all routes), the student must achieve an accumulated weighted average above 55% at the end of Year 2 and at the end of Year 3.
Additional requirements for Chemical Engineering (Chemistry) MEng
In order to be eligible for the Chemistry route, the student will have chosen the relevant modules:
CENG0014 Inorganic Chemistry for Engineers in year 2
CENG0021 Organic Chemistry for Engineers in year 3
CENG0022 From Molecules to Molecular Engineering in year 3
Also, in order to remain on the MEng course (all routes), the student must achieve an accumulated weighted average above 55% at the end of Year 2 and at the end of Year 3.
