Anatomical Sciences is the study of the human body’s structure and how its organs and tissues are connected. It looks at anatomy at two levels:

* Gross anatomy: studying whole organs

* Microscopic anatomy: examining tissues (histology)

This course covers the human body from early development to adulthood. You will also take part in full-body dissections using Thiel-embalmed cadavers.

This hands-on experience helps you understand anatomy in a practical way. In your final year, you will complete a research project on a topic in anatomical sciences.

At Dundee, we are known for our expertise in areas such as human identification, forensic anthropology, and craniofacial identification. You will learn practical techniques and advanced dissection skills by working with Thiel-embalmed cadavers. The course combines theory and practical skills. This means you will gain both knowledge and hands-on experience.
