Are you passionate about exploring the mysteries of space, time, and matter?

The most fundamental science is physics. It deals with the nature and properties of matter and energy. In space, extreme conditions like gravity, high pressure, and intense temperatures can happen.

By studying these, we deepen our understanding of basic physics. This gives us important new insights into how the universe works.

This course will increase your understanding of fundamental physics and mathematics.

You will study:

* classical and modern physics

* space physics and astronomy

* thermal physics

* computational astrophysics

* stars and planetary systems

In your final year, you'll work on a personal project. This will give you practical experience in a research lab. From the start, you’ll have the chance to get involved in special undergraduate research projects.

### Increased employability skills

When you study Physics with Astrophysics BSc (Hons), you'll gain a broad set of skills that are highly sought after by employers. This course offers opportunities to work on research projects independently and in groups.

The course’s emphasis on practical experience and critical thinking prepares you for careers in diverse fields such as:

* technology

* engineering

* data analysis

* research

making you a highly competitive candidate in the job market.

### Passionate teaching

Our passion for physics fuels our commitment to delivering an engaging and inspiring learning experience. We bring physics to life through dynamic lectures, hands-on experiments, and real-world applications. Our high staff-to-student ratio ensures a supportive and friendly learning environment, with approachable lecturers dedicated to your success.

### Student community

Our Physics Society fosters a strong sense of community, organising regular social events. These include trips to CERN, Munich, and Amsterdam, and the annual Physics Ball.

You’ll also have the opportunity to connect with students from all year groups, who can offer guidance and support.
