## Course summary
Do you want to create memorable gameplay experiences for players across the world?
Computer game designers are the backbones of game development. On this course, you’ll explore what is possible within the interactive medium of games. You’ll analyse why a game is fun, and consider motivations of the players. Creating fun isn’t easy, but our Games Development (Design) course will help you progress as a versatile designer ready to shape the pathway you want in this field.
Our Games courses share a Common First Year. That will give you a thorough understanding of the game development process, before discovering what is possible with your specialism in later years. You’ll explore areas including conceptualisation, prototyping with game engines and level design. As a graduate, you’ll have in-demand skills in a truly global sector.
Why choose Huddersfield for this course?
Our course carries the ScreenSkills accreditation, which identifies courses best suited to prepare you for a Creative Industries career.
We design our courses around making games, so you’ll have the chance to take part in lots of internal Game Jams as well as external events.
We have an in-house game development studio with industry-standard equipment where a small number of placements will be available.
