Why study Engineering with Renewable Technologies at York?
Develop the engineering skills to shape the future of energy. Build the knowledge and practical expertise needed to tackle current and future technological challenges, with specialist knowledge of renewable energy generation and power delivery. Group projects at this stage allow you to put into practice your learning to produce something tangible while improving your team working and communication skills.
Build a broad engineering foundation. Study electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering alongside materials and manufacturing, mathematics and modelling, sensors and control. You'll work as a project team to design, prototype, and validate a working embedded system. You'll demonstrate hands‑on engineering, collaborative problem‑solving, and industry‑ready technical depth, giving you a flagship piece of work that strengthens placement and graduate applications.
Specialise in renewable energy technologies. Develop your expertise in later years as you explore the role of engineering in renewable energy generation and power delivery. Tackle a complex, discipline‑aligned engineering problem and deliver a fully engineered solution that demonstrates advanced technical depth and confident command of industry‑standard tools.
Take your engineering knowledge further with an integrated Master's. Study for four years at York, building advanced technical knowledge and practical experience as you prepare for specialist careers in renewable energy and engineering.
